DENVER – NFL teams are not necessarily known for producing great statistics, however, once you examine the past year, they certainly can be very impressive. It is a sad fact of life with many teams. However, when you dig down into the individual statistics, there are quite a few impressive ones on offense that Denver can boast of. Here are the top five:
The passing game has been great for Denver this year. Siemian has been excellent as the team’s starting quarterback. He has thrown the ball more than anyone else on the team and has one of the highest completion percentages in the league. He is one of the better No. 2 quarterbacks in football today.
Andre Johnson – Wide Receiver Tandeming
Also deserving of mention is Andre Johnson. He is one of the best wide receiver tandeming with Calvin Johnson. They form a great tandem for the foreseeable future. One can only imagine what their production will be next year. Andre Johnson is one player that cannot be moved at this point in his career.
Two defensive ends who have produced great play for the Denver Broncos are Elvis Dumervil and Sylvester Williams. These two have combined for 15 sacks and two forced fumbles. I am sure you can see how impressive these players are to bring down ball carriers. This unit now looks like the entire NFL has been brought to Denver.
The running game has been dreadful for the last two weeks. They have failed to score a touchdown in both games. This is just a bad combination to go into a game with. Luckily, C.J. Manning has been able to take over and make things happen.
Michael Huff – The Starter At Running Back
With Champ Bailey out of town, Michael Huff will be the starter at running back. He has been extremely reliable all year. If he keeps playing like he has been, then he will be a valuable piece to any NFL team. If he does not produce, then this could be the year that the backup plan is needed.
Right tackle Matt Slausch has been phenomenal all year. He has been a big reason why the running game is so efficient. If he is not producing the way that he is, this could be a big problem for the rest of the NFL. Many people forget that rookie DeMarcus Ware has been great this year. He has been an absolute force on the line and one of the main reasons the Broncos are still here.
The bottom line is that the Denver Broncos have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. There is no other team that has come so close to the Super Bowl as the Broncos have this year. If they do not win it this year, there is no doubt that they will in 2021. This is just one of the NFL team statistics that should not be overlooked.
Quarterback Peyton Manning
Quarterback Peyton Manning is one of the best signal callers in the NFL. He has thrown the most interceptions in the NFL this year, but he has also been one of the most productive players. He has thrown for over 4,000 yards, and he has also rushed for over a thousand yards as well.
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is having a fantastic season. He is second in yards gained behind only Antonio Gates. He is also one of the best deep threats in football. Tight end Julius Thomas is another great choice in the NFL this year. He has been one of the biggest surprises of this season and has shined this year after being injured most of the 2021 season.
Cornerback Cortland Broadway has been incredible this year. He is making plays all year and has even picked off Tom Brady multiple times this season. Tight end Rob Gronk is another great choice in this wide receiver position. He is one of the best tight ends in the game and is one of the top performers on the team.
As you can see, there are many great NFL players that are performing at a high level this year. It will be very interesting to see who will come out on top at the end of the season. The NFL has produced some of the best players of this generation, and this is only going to continue in 2021.
